The Company
Solihull-based Napking is a well established UK manufacturer of 2 and 3 ply tissue and air laid printed disposable napkins and place mats for the international market.
Using modern, high technology machinery Napking creates individual designs to customers’ detailed specifications.
Environmentally aware, Napking sources its materials from the EC, obtained from constantly renewable forests.
Napking came to SynergiDesign’s SEO (search engine optimisation) service after experiencing an SEO disaster. Search engine optimisation work carried out for them by a rogue designer using unethical and 'black hat' SEO techniques resulted in their company being blacklisted by the search engines (SE).
With so much of their business being carried out online, this was a catastrophe
for the Solihull business. Potential customers could not find them due to poor
SEO had been set up. In November 2004 they had only 46 visitors to their site.
After advice from Business Link and meeting 3 companies, Napking chose Search
Engine Optimisation and Google Consultants, Synergi Design. They were impressed
that SynergiDesign
were at the top of the rankings with a Google search. It was clear
to them that SynergiDesign must have the expertise to revive their SEO
fortunes.
The Solihull business also required a new website to match their growing place in the market.
The Process
- Discussion - SynergiDesign explained clearly
in lay terms to Napking representatives what had gone wrong with
the previous SE service and how the position could be reversed using sophisticated
and ethical methods and selected search terms and phrases. Napking’s website
requirements were also discussed.
- Acceptance - Napking put their trust in SynergiDesign
to create a new website design for them incorporating ethical search
engine optimisation using their preferred search term which had been
researched by SynergiDesign to return the most amount and relevant leads, ‘printed
napkins’.
- Method - SynergiDesign’s SEO service uses only ethical, organic SEO methods. This ensures the search engines will be attracted to a site when the selected search terms are used. The use of unethical methods and spurious content can actually have the effect of being SE repellent, giving negative search results.
- Google Expertise – SynergiDesign created a modern, fresh
design for the new Napking website which showcases their products in an attractive
and effective way, including matching the selection of colours needed to enable
customers to choose their napkins. The Solihull company wanted to be found
on Page 1 of Google’s search results for their search terms.
Using only organic SEO techniques, SynergiDesign was able to achieve this
for them.

Since SynergiDesign’s SEO service has worked on the site the Solihull company has achieved a huge increase in genuine enquiries and sales. In November 2006, Napking had 1712 visitors to their site – an increase of 3600%. By August 2007 the number of visitors had reached 2184, a 4746.5% increase on their 2004 figures!
